Who what or where?
If we are making decisions, and we seem to always be making one- what takes precedence? What is the underlying deciding factor? What tips the balance when all things seem equal?
Choosing to stay anchored and go with the ebb and flo for a while is okay too. That’s choosing not to choose, while we give ourselves time to contemplate a little longer.
Time is wasted only if we are not enjoying the passage of time–where we are, what we are doing, who we are with. And we can enjoy it with only one or 2 out of the 3. You know the old “I don’t care where we are or what we’re doing, as long as I’m with you!” For some it’s “I don’t care where I am or whom I’m with, as long as I’m ___ .” (J. Zan, 2015)
Is the “where” my priority? The where seems to be the biggest choice right now. Maybe, it shouldn’t be. Maybe, I should think a little more on the Who?
Who are the people that are impacted by my decision, besides me? Who do I want to be near and spend more time with? Who is important? Who has given me what I needed, without asking for anything in return? Who could I call on in a moment?
Does the Where or What compare to the Who? It is the knowledge that every crossroads holds a secret key to the next path, that stalls me. What path will lie beyond the next choice? At least, I don’t have to try and figure out where a sandy beach is for this big dog to get out of the dinghy. There are levels of decisions. That seems like a minor choice compared to my decisions, but for him, it was major! Just being brought along, was a big decision for his owners. Evidently, they chose to have him on-board with them, over the inconvenience factor.
I have chosen the same, with my two. That is a choice of the Who! If our relationships with other people are priority, it will guide the decisions on where and what.
