snow day
There are several ways to wake up to a crisp new snow. You might wake in the dark and find your pipes frozen , therefore feel like you were in a panic. Or you could wake in the daylight to a scene that rivals anything you could have imagined. It might be best to go to bed with it falling, so you know what to expect when you wake? Nothing prepares you for either scenario. Has anyone ever gone to sleep expecting their pipes to freeze or expecting to see this kind of natural beauty?
See those tracks? I wonder what birds think of snow? Do their feet get cold? Do they feel it coming and take cover? Where do they go? I know what geese do. They fly south and/ or hang around as they choose. Maybe, I don’t know what they do….?
See them up in the left hand corner? A flock flew off and this group decided to hang out on the snow making all kinds of noise.
Doesn’t snow look pure? It’s like “Ivory Snow” advertising, looks so clean and fresh.
What do you do on an official snow day? When the office or school is closed? I like to cook comfort food and take pictures. I know I won’t remember how beautiful it was unless it is captured in a lasting form. I can tell you that even the pictures do not do it justice. You know how a disco ball glitters? Well, this snow has diamond glints and sparkles that I can’t describe. I can only hope you see them, too. From a nice warm cozy spot , like a sun porch! Have you ever wondered why the porch is not the largest part of a house? If I could design a home, it would be 3 parts porch, 2 parts open living space and 1 part private quarters. Add some drive under parking & a BIG view- voila’. Could someone call HGTV and tell them I have an “idea house”? 🙂
