Racing anyone?
Hurry up and wait?
Up close and personal? What makes some sailors racers and some cruisers? Is it age? Is it personality or skill or opportunity? Is it the boat or the circumstances that lead to racing? Is it competitive natures or just a love of the sailing?
I think I like the spectator spot- the committee boat or up high on the dock marking the registrants and making sure that the flags get changed on time. Especially, when there is a storm threatening in the distance. Is there anything wrong with enjoying the race, without being in the race? Of course, we are charged to “run the good race” , if we are going to participate.
Looks like a lot of folks are staying near the dock. There are so few who enter and finish!
