Dividing the Spoils

²⁵ The Lord said to Moses, ²⁶ “You and Eleazar the priest and the family heads of the community are to count all the people and animals that were captured. ²⁷ Divide the spoils equally between the soldiers who took part in the battle and the rest of the community. ²⁸ From the soldiers who fought in the battle, set apart as tribute for the Lord one out of every five hundred, whether people, cattle, donkeys or sheep. ²⁹ Take this tribute from their half share and give it to Eleazar the priest as the Lord’s part. ³⁰ From the Israelites’ half, select one out of every fifty, whether people, cattle, donkeys, sheep or other animals. Give them to the Levites, who are responsible for the care of the Lord’s tabernacle.” ³¹ So Moses and Eleazar the priest did as the Lord commanded Moses.³² The plunder remaining from the spoils that the soldiers took was 675,000 sheep, ³³ 72,000 cattle, ³⁴ 61,000 donkeys ³⁵ and 32,000 women who had never slept with a man.

Out of your battles will comes spoils and God will use the spoils for His House. No battles, no spoils. There is a special wealth for those who go through battles in life. You will receive. Before the battle, the revelation is a theory. But, when you go through a battle, you have lived this revelation.
We are no longer under the law, but the principles are there for us. To be in touch with the high priest is to be very near to God. Our Lord Jesus is our high priest today. Who is the assistant to the high priest and priest? It’s the Levites.

The Lord said divide the plunder ( gold, silver, cows, animals, etc ) into two parts- those who took part in the battle and all the congregation. Usually those who go to battle are not as many. There is a principle that what one does- all benefit from. If God speaks truth to one, it is to benefit all. Our battle and warfare is studying the word of God. One man’s labor is not just for the one studying, but for the entire body of Christ. BUT, vs. 28- levy a tribute to the Lord ( tithing principle) the battle is the Lord’s, the victory and spoils are yours. Levy a tribute ( one of every 500 of the plunder- take it and give to the priest as a gift offering to the Lord.  Divide into 2 parts- first part for those who went to battle, then those in congregation. Then 1/500th of the first part goes to the Lord.  Then, the congregation, take 1/50 to give to the Lord.

The one who receives the revelation is closer to God.  Something about you is different….people will say. I felt that sense of peace, strength and calm settle on me 8.7.20, Saturday at 3pm at Dolores home.

One out of fifty the congregation gives to the Levites- who serve the priests. It never reaches higher. Those who labor for the Lord.

We all suffer- maybe we are in bondage to drugs, prescriptions, alcohol, food, etc-

I Peter 5:10 But the God of all Grace, AFTER that ye have suffered a while, make you perfect, establish, strengthen and settle you.

1 Peter 5:9,10. Even when the devil attacks you, there is an “after that”. Expect good things after you have been attacked.

Psalm 66:12  If you have gone through fire, God brings you out- there is always an OUT. You go in at one level and go out at a higher place- a wealthy place. This is one of two places in the Bible where this Hebrew word for overflowing wealth is used. The other place is in Psalm 23- my cup overflows- it’s not just rich, its overflowing in the Hebrew.

Psalm 4:1 God has enlarged me when I was in distress…..when? When you are in distress. If you are in distress, look forward to your rewards, your plunder, your coming out, you are walking through.  Jobs troubles were 9 months long, but he walked through. The God of all grace provides riches for other people after you walk through your trials- the blessings spread beyond you.

I think the modern word would be “gainer” A gainer is a person or organization who gains something from a particular situation.
