impossiblities
What is an impossibility?
Defined as something that is impossible : something that cannot be done or that cannot happen: the quality or state of being impossible.
Impossibility? Is it a kiss away from reality?
To dream the impossible dream
To fight the unbeatable foe
To bear with unbearable sorrow
To run where the brave dare not go
To right the unrightable wrong
To love pure and chaste from afar
To try when your arms are too weary
To reach the unreachable star
This is my quest
To follow that star
No matter how hopeless
No matter how far
To fight for the right
Without question or pause
To be willing to march into Hell
For a heavenly cause
And I know if I’ll only be true
To this glorious quest
That my heart will lie peaceful and calm
When I’m laid to my rest
And the world will be better for this
That one man, scorned and covered with scars
Still strove with his last ounce of courage
To reach the unreachable star
The Impossible Dream is from Man of La Mancha ( 1972) with music by Mitch Leigh and lyrics by Joe Darion
Today, on the Senate floor, a debate is underway on the Planned Parenthood debacle. I have been watching it on C-Span. The bottom line is, a core issue is that the Hyde Amendment, the law of the land for 40 years prohibits tax payer dollars from going to abortions. Tax dollars should not be available to the largest single provider of abortions in America. The videos released on the harvesting of fetal organs in a callous manner has prompted some to “Dream the Impossible Dream- To fight for the Right- Without Question or Pause”. Everyone speaking, believes they are fighting for what is right. That’s an impossibility- how can two sides of the aisle be right? How can representatives voting on opposite sides both be right? How is that possible? It’s one kiss from reality. It’s the spin that each have put on the issue, their personal experiences, their constituents, their knowledge and beliefs. There is a reality that exists somewhere between each extreme.
