Closed Doors

God is involved in aligning our lives according to His purpose, presenting opportunities and choices for our free will.

Genesis 4:6-7 Sin is crouching (insidious, perceptions, desires) at the door and it’s desire is for you to do things and make decisions ( compromise, unloving or unkind choices). It speaks of the door of our hearts. God said, “You must master it”.

Keep the door to your heart closed to sin. When God guides your steps with choices and we act on them.

God can close a door that no man can open and He can also open a door that no man can close.

Isaiah 22:22

keys
The key of David can open doors no man can shut.
Sometimes God closes doors on relationships, personal or business.  A friendship or a family contact can end with a closed door. A romantic relationship can be especially hurtful when the door is closed. God can help you navigate it. If God closes the door, trust that He has something better and He is protecting you.

Jesus gave us the keys to the kingdom, and whatever we bind on earth shall be bound in heaven and whatever we loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven (Matt. 16:19).

Another key that believers can use to open doors that no one can shut and shut doors that no one can open is the key of David.

Some call it the “Isaiah 22:22 key” but you could also call it the Revelation 3:7 key because it is mentioned in both books. Isaiah 22:22 reads, “The key of the house of David I will lay on his shoulder. Then he shall open, and no one shall shut. And he shall shut, and no one shall open.”

Of course, the “He” in this verse is Jesus. Jesus has the key and can open and shut as He wills. When Jesus opens the door, no man can shut it and when Jesus shuts the door, no man can open it. Our job is to discern His will for us.

“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.Jeremiah 29:11
