Geese family

Ah, family. The sweet sight of two geese parents with their new goslings. Look how protective they are. Those little fellows will be following mama while papa brings up the rear in a family troop of five when they start exploring the waterways.

I heard an online preacher who said that he was opening up his church to meet in person ( with all recommended precautions for the Covid-19) on June 1, no matter what phase we are all in. He said, the “church family” needed to be together. It’s fine to do online sessions in an emergency, but we are being harmed more by the separation than protected sheltering in place. He talked about doing an outdoor service, but thought people would be more distracted by the bugs, sun ,heat, etc, than was worthwhile. That would be fine to just see each other, and make a community statement that we are still here. He felt it would not be a good setting for worship and scripture readings.

I haven’t seen my family since December-February. That’s a long time. I can talk to them on the phone and sometimes we can use messenger/facetime to see each other, but it’s really just not the same as an in person visit. I get what the preacher is saying about the church family needs to be together, and so does the extended family unit.

Hopefully, I can get out in Phase 1- to another location in Phase 1- to visit on one of their outside porches. It’s time. It’s past time.
