part 2
Ask any man- what do you think of this blood moon and the fact that we are supposed to see 4 in a short period of time? “Well, these things happen off and on- nothing to think of it”. Ask any woman- what do you think? ” Mighty strange coincidence- it could mean something”.
I was driving across a bridge and saw an exquisite view of the moon over the water. My first thought was “I wish I had a nice camera, I would stop and get a picture”. As my car crossed the bridge, I saw someone I knew standing there with a tripod, doing just what I wanted to do. Screech- I stopped the car and walked back across the bridge to where he was standing. I know him from a few mutual contacts, but not well. I thought we would enjoy a moment of single mindedness. Wrong. He was looking at the view from the bridge and saying, ” the shots not there”. What? What could be wrong with this view? “There is this bit of old piers and clutter”. What? I like that. So, I am looking and thinking how wonderful and he is looking and thinking- it’s not right enough or picture perfect for a good photo. I liked it just fine- naturally. We were both on that bridge at the same time, to see the same thing, but we both had totally different experiences.
So, can you imagine how this kid feels. On The Voice, Jake comes back after getting all zeros- and got 3 chairs to turn. So, we have a young man- sort of chubby- country music singer who is recruited by Blake Shelton, Adam of Maroon 5 and Shakira. They all “heard’ the same thing and wanted to coach the kid. The kid heard- “do you want to be coached by a country singer?”. He came out there with a country song and he went home with a country coach? That’s what you would expect.
You don’t expect to have just returned from a recent trip on the auto train and hear your travel companion talking about how much fun it was when you were hoping it would end. How can two people be right there together? Maybe, people process information differently and the facts get sugar coated in some of our heads on the way to the main brain memory banks? Maybe, some people have a very superficial experience of life and to them, that’s all there is? Maybe, intuition plays a role. If you rely on that, you may look deeper and make memories that are more emotive.
They say women have better memories in general because they wrap them in highly charged emotions. Anything that you felt deeply will stay with you longer- maybe, that’s it. The same events, may not evoke a strong feeling in two people, therefore the experience is different. Could it be that simple? It probably is:)
