Shine on—-moon— over an island bridge!

Moonshine or a shining moon is like sunlight, only it’s a night light.

Moonshine is making a comeback. Junior Johnson is crafting a legal version of the traditional 100 proof liquor called white lightning, mountain dew, hooch, or Tennessee white whiskey is a high-proof distilled spirit that has generally been produced illicitly.

Moonshine is a term adapted from the original moonshine stills and is now used to describe “creating something of value from spare and/or under-utilized items. This unique approach was invented by Shingijutsu and can provide amazing and sustainable results in a short amount of time.”  A business practice to create solutions for the root causes of problems, based on innovative and creative ways to “right size” for the situation.

Isn’t this what we could do in every situation? Find a way to create something of value from spare or under utilized parts? Can we make the answers fit the problems?  Sometimes we over correct. A problem doesn’t deserve the severe and far reaching actions taken to prevent recurrence. And, sometimes we overlook simple solutions because they are “just too easy”. Being easy is not a condemnation. Finding simple and easy ways to make a better outcome should be the first choice- not an afterthought.

The first posting on this website was of the Super Moon. It’s a good way to end this one. Every now and then, the Moon-shines so brightly and so close, it’s a Super Moon. This is my two year anniversary of capturing my thoughts in this venue. I want to thank my favorite brown eyed son for making this possible, for the “mother figure” on her birthday. What a delightful gift!! And one that I have thoroughly enjoyed.
